SAT Prep Plan: SAT Tips

Tip of the Day 16

SAT Reading: Where to spend your efforts

The two basic question types on the SAT Reading sections—sentence completion and reading comprehension—are not created equal: Reading questions generally take a great deal more time to answer correctly.

Because this is so, focus on answering the sentence completion questions first, especially if you’re short on time. The sentence completion questions are easier to guess correctly, and take less time in doing so. In fact, unitl you start scoring VERY strongly on the SAT Reading section, expect to leave some of the reading comprehension questions BLANK.
