SAT Prep Plan: SAT Tips

Tip of the Day 31

In the run-up to test day.

  • Don’t do any serious study work the day before the test. You want to give you brain time to process your studying, and continuing to “cram” right before the test will rob you of rest and won’t make you any more prepared.
  • Taper off your studying in the few days before the test day. The night before, get a good night’s rest and take it easy the day before the test—review, reflect, but most of all relax!
  • Wake up early enough before the start of the test to allow yourself to wake up, warm up, and eat a good, light breakfast. You’ve got to fuel your brain during this marathon run, so keep your body supplied with food. Avoid too much caffiene (jitters don’t help). Take a light snack like an apple with you to recharge when you get a chance.
