SAT questions are notorious for including statements that encourage you to “interpret” it in ways that make more sense but don’t actually keep to the literal meaning of the statement. If you read, “Erica is 5’5” tall; the average American is 5’6” tall”, don’t automatically “interpret” that Erica is an American and is therefore below average height. She might be a very tall Pygmy for all we can tell from the passage!
Keep a very careful eye on the specific text and the specific questions being asked; make very certain you don’t “interpret” or overanalyze a question or passage. Though in real life your ability to “fill in blanks” is very useful, for the SAT assume that everything said is meant LITERALLY.
