To make it easy on you, here is how you’re going to write your SAT essays:
Take the first couple of minutes to brainstorm your thesis and supporting ideas. Use scratch paper.
Write the introductory paragraph in which you identify your thesis/position and specifically explain how it’s related to the essay prompt (remember: you can only get a “zero” if you write off topic!) Put a lot of effort into nailing your introductory paragraph, since it’s the part that will be read most critically.
Write individual paragraphs for every example that supports your thesis, and remember to always explain specifically how the examples you site support your thesis. More examples, and good (scholastic/academic) examples are better than fewer examples. Write as much as you can in the time you have. More is better. Big words are better too, if you can use them correctly.
Write the conclusion paragraph, where you restate your thesis and how you showed it, and suggest other areas of discussion beyond it (but don’t write about them).
Proofread for basic flow, grammar, and spelling, but don’t worry too much about little details unless they really hinder reading the essay.
